WHITBY AND ESK VALLEY RAILWAY RESIDENTS RAILCARD
Discounted fares for local residents’ travel on Esk Valley Railway and North Yorkshire Moors Railway trains -
now covering more post code areas.
Valid for discounts on train tickets between Whitby and Middlesbrough and intermediate stations and between
Grosmont and Pickering. Also on the Tees Day Ranger ticket covering journeys in the area bounded by Whitby,
Yarm, Bishop Auckland, Sunderland and Saltburn.
The Resident’s Railcard 2006 price is £12 for one year and it can be renewed before expiry date for just £7.50.
Your Resident’s Railcard offers you 1/3 off normal adult train fares, up to 4 accompanying under 16s also
receive 1/3 off but more than 80% off Esk Valley and Tees Day Ranger tickets. The Railcard is not valid for
season tickets.
When your station is staffed you must purchase your ticket at the ticket office. Otherwise please purchase
your ticket from the conductor on the train.
If you would like a Resident’s Railcard and live in thes North Yorkshire districts of Hambleton, Rydale or
Scarborough or in the Boroughs of Redcar & Cleveland, Stockton or Middlesbrough, please send a stamped
addressed envelope, the names of the proposed Railcard holders and aa cheque payable to EVRDC for
£12 each (or £7.50 if renewing your old card, quoting the number please), and send to EVRDC,

All donations and proceeds from the sale of Resident’s Railcards are used by EVRDC for the
development of the Esk Valley Railway.
